All MOT test car and personal details are now logged centrally on a government monitored computer, as are all aspects of the each MOT test result and time taken to complete each part of the MOT test.

The central government database is also linked with the MID (Motoring Insurance Database)  which is an industry combined central database where virtually all the UK t insurers pool certain car and personal data together, so that they can check any detail against other insurers details (e.g for insurance claims).

Plus both these sets of data are also linked with the government VOSA vehicle tax database, so that YOU cannot buy a vehcile tax disk on line, without having 'LIVE' insurance and a valid MOT at the time of purchase.
