The new style MOT certificates (VT20) as shown below, are issued by the VOSA computer at each authorised MOT garage at the time your car passes its MOT test.

The certificate is a simple A4 sheet computer print out and contains the following details :

• Car
• Personal
• MOT certificate dates
• MOT garage
• 24 digit authentication number
• Bar code

 

This is just a specimen example (with all the details blurred). However, this should give you a feel for what the real printout produced by each MOT test garage will produce for you, once your car has passed its test.
